Have you noticed? Feeling more stress and burnout at work? It’s on the rise. And everyone is trying to figure out why? I mean the worst of COVID seems to be over, right? The Pandemic is over, right? Everyone seems to be saying everything can go back to normal.

Normal? Even as a clinician, I ask the question that begs to be asked:

What’s normal? By the way, it’s really not meant as an existential question.

Three years ago it would not have been normal to work remotely. The stats are startling. In an article on the projections and stats of the growing remote workforce, Zippia, a career expert outlet, believes that by 2025 more people will be working at home.

How does this paradigm enhance burnout and stress?

Let’s take a look at the leading causes of the stress/burnout experience.

Simply because masks are no longer required, the fun stuff you used to do begs you to come back to it, and you might have greater latitude to choose how often you work at home or go to the “office” And yet, many folks continue to experience the sense that nothing feels the same.

Stress and burnout. They show up in the craziest ways. No one is talking about the big elephant in the room.
