Life After COVID: Rituals — From Grief to Growth
The COVID lockdowns taught us all valuable lessons about lost opportunity. It may be that you keenly felt the loss of things you loved doing. It might also have been aggravating to hear stories from others who managed to reconnect to more gratified versions of the Self. The experience might have shone a spotlight on gaps in your private and even professional life, like not having a lot of interests outside of work, or not making the most out of the ones you do have.
Re-Establish Old Rituals, Or Create New Ones
We thrive on rituals, routines, and schedules. The new normal is the perfect time to bring back the things you love to do, or even redefine what you do, in a conscious and structured way. You have had plenty of time to imagine the things you would do when the pandemic abated. Now is the time to make them a reality, even if they stretch your comfort zone. You may also find the time is ripe for that getaway that you have been putting off.
Excerpt from "Live" by Anne Sexton Today life opened inside me like an egg
and there inside
after considerable digging
I found the answer.
What a bargain!
There was the sun,
her yolk moving feverishly,
tumbling her prize --
and you realize she does this daily!
I'd known she was a purifier
but I hadn't thought
she was solid,
hadn't known she was an answer.
