REMEMBER SMILING?
Smile? Smile! Just Smile…
Have you used those smile muscles lately? When was the last time you laughed? I mean one of those hearty, from the belly, choked up, can’t breathe, tears streaming down your face kinda laugh?
I know life is complex. Illness, politics, family changes, job changes and we could go on and on. Times are tough. That is why it is essential to lighten things up a bit and inhabit some moments of play.
Get silly. It’s ok to wear two socks that don’t match, or put a color streak in your hair, or read a light hearted book that you would never let anyone know you’re reading.
I don’t know what silly is for you, and if you do, then just do it. If you don’t know what silly is for you, or what sparks that chuckle that turns into an unabashed, from the gut, laugh, why not experiment with some behavior that is unlike you.
Remember that the fun, smiling part of you needs to be nourished? Your inner sense of play needs exercise.
Go ahead. Smile. Chuckle. Remember a time when laughter rose within you without thinking about what others thought.
Smile.
Laugh!
Get Silly?
You might be surprised at how your mood shifts and your emotional life is elevated.
