Self-Awareness Improves Day to Day Career Functionality
How do you raise your awareness of the internal self in a way that translates into high functionality day to day within your career?
These questions can act as a continual assessment of how and when any shifts have occurred. If you date your answers, you will have a record and timeline of your growth or shifts in your behavior.
- Are you sleeping more or less than usual?
- Are you eating more or less than normal?
- Are you able to keep to your everyday schedule or is it chaotic?
- Have you been leaving mail unopened? Are bills unpaid or late?
- Is everything around you scattered or unorganized, especially if you are normally organized? Conversely, have you become overly organized and obsessive about how you want things done?
- Are you spending too much time on the internet?
- Are you unable to concentrate, or are you hyper-focused?
- Are you reclusive, or do you fear being alone?
- Are you forgetful, or are you obsessive about time?
- Are you engaging in excessive behavior related to shopping, alcohol, sex, and food?
Keep in mind: Internal and external conflicts you face can cause mood fluctuations that leave you imbalanced but both positive and negative influences exist within these conflicts.
Sometimes conflicts are necessary to promote and cultivate enlightenment, and this is particularly true for the forces faced in the professional setting.
Self-Awareness is an important assessment tool and a necessary first step toward understanding the self.
