The Father Role at Work

Certain people throughout your professional life have taken on The Father role for you. Jung’s archetypal Father figure oversees, leads, and creates… but can also be a source of confusing critiques or come across as casually tyrannical.

The armor we wear while weaving through a wide range of professional environments can have characteristics associated with the father archetype; or The Mother for that matter, a Designer, a Peacemaker, a Son or a Daughter, and a Teacher. And even when you’re not actively engaged in any specific role, it influences the core of your personality.

In whose voice do you hear thoughts that either admonish your work or complement your work? Think about the archetypes — Is it the Mother, the Father, the Teacher, the Critic?
